The Planai area this summer is a hive of activity as the region needs to complete it's new 26 million Euro Construction project for ski lifts.

Demolition work for the new 'Planet Planai' valley Ski station has been completed, and the erection work for the new station is already under way.  Further developments for the area include a new 8 seater detachable chairlift in the Mitterhaus region.  So, all should be on schedule for the winter season..

The Planai snow making plant for the racing slopes must be improved and enlarged in preparation for the 2013 World Championships. It is also of vital importance to Planai that the remaining piste surfaces, not required for the World Championships, are upgraded to remain attractive for public skiing.

As one of the first skiing regions to do so, the Planai-Bahnen are implementing so-called “eco-friendly snow management”, allowing the exact volume of snow to be produced fast – just enough to guarantee optimal snow coverage.

From the Weitmoos reservoir, the water is fed to where it is needed for the production of artificial snow. As such, it is possible to produce a basic layer of artificial snow at the Planai peak within 48 hours. The newly built pumping station will, in addition, be capable of producing 1 500 m3 of snow per hour (equivalent to 150 truck loads).

The development project is for a total of 26 open and spacious apartment homes set in a central location in Schladming. The base station of the Planai and the town are within walking distance, so very easy to start your ski days and no bus to wait for!

.There will be a good choice of apartment layouts.  Apartment sizes range from 40-146 m² on a total of four floors will be available. We will be adding more detailed information and apartment plans shortly.
